The module extends the existing product and variant model, allowing subscriptions to be defined directly at the catalog level. A single product can be offered both as a one-time purchase and as a subscription-based variant, with customers able to combine recurring and non-recurring items within the same cart and checkout process.

Subscriptions are created as a result of placed orders and evolve independently over time. Each subscription maintains its own lifecycle, including status, renewal schedule, and a clear relationship with the orders generated as part of subsequent renewals.

Designed as a building block rather than a closed solution, the Subscription Module provides a solid foundation for implementing custom subscription workflows, integrating with payment providers or billing systems, and supporting diverse recurring commerce scenarios tailored to specific business needs.
